Kate Courtney Breaks Women's Record at Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB

In a thrilling display of endurance and skill, Kate Courtney claimed victory at the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB presented by Kenetik, setting a new women's course record in the process.

Courtney rode solo for over half of the 100-mile race at high elevation, finishing with a time of 6 hours, 48 minutes, and 55 seconds. This impressive time not only secured her the victory but also broke Annika Langvad's decade-old record by an impressive 10 minutes and 28 seconds.

Before 2025, Langvad's record, set in 2015, stood as the benchmark. However, after the 2025 race, Courtney's record-breaking ride cemented her place in the history books.

In the race for the podium, Cecily Decker finished in third place, seven minutes ahead of Sofia Gomez Villafañe in fourth. Decker's position was boosted when Lauren Stephens, who had climbed away from Melisa Rollins on the inbound ascent of Powerline, was later disqualified. This move propelled Decker into third place and, as a result, she now leads the elite women's leaderboard in the Life Time Grand Prix with 86 points.

Rollins, who used a time trial effort to rejoin Stephens late in the race and make a pass for second place, secured the second spot on the podium. She is currently in third place in the elite women's leaderboard with 72 points.

Haley Smith and Hannah Otto gained significant time during the race and connected with Edwards. However, both Sarah Sturm and Michaela Thompson finished in ninth and tenth place, respectively.

Alexis Skarda was riding in fourth place during the latter stages of the race, but it was Rollins who made a pass with five miles to go on the pavement to secure her spot on the podium.

Sofia Gomez Villafañe currently holds second place in the elite women's leaderboard with 84 points, just two points behind Decker.
