The Carleton Ravens women's basketball team stormed into the semi-finals of the USports National Championship with a dominating performance against the Bishop's Gaiters!

In a nail-biting showdown held at the University of British Columbia's War Memorial Gym in Vancouver, the Ravens emerged victorious with a score of 71-41. This tournament gathers eight teams from across the nation, including Laval, uOttawa, UBC, Saint Mary's, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and more. The championship is set to conclude on Sunday.

Riding high on their title win last year, the Carleton women entered the tournament ranked third, while Bishop's took the sixth spot. The Gaiters struggled early on, finding themselves in foul trouble and missing their free throws, which the aggressive Ravens took advantage of using fast breaks and press tactics. At the half, the energetic Carleton squad led 34-20.

In the third quarter, Dorcas Buisa led the charge for Carleton, scoring nine points and creating numerous opportunities for her team. Recognizing her outstanding performance, she was awarded the Player of the Game accolade for the Ravens. Eve Atchampone won the same honor for Bishop's, finishing the game with 11 points.

Top scorer of the game was Carleton's Teresa Donato, who racked up 20 points and hit nine out of her ten free throws.

With this victory, Carleton advances to the semifinals where they will face longtime rivals, the uOttawa Gee Gees. The Gee Gees clinched their spot after winning an thrilling overtime match versus Laval with a score of 71-67. Prepare for a rematch of the OUA Critelli Cup Final, where uOttawa edged out the Ravens last Saturday (70-61), marking the Ravens' first loss since the preseason.

After the game, Carleton head coach Dani Sinclair shared her team's sentiments about the upcoming rematch:

"They outplayed us last Saturday, so we need to take better care of the ball, finish our offensive plays, and step up our defensive game," she said.

The much-anticipated matchup is scheduled for March 15 at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbirds Centre in Vancouver, kicking off at 9 p.m. ET.
