Manila, PH - The University of the Philippines (UP) Maroons snagged their second consecutive victory, while Adamson University earned its first triumph in the UAAP Season 85 women's basketball tournament held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on October 8.

After falling 16 points behind, UP rallied to crush Far Eastern University (FEU) with a final score of 73-56 in an impressive comeback. This victory marks their first win streak since Season 78, and their first win against FEU since 2016.

Rookie standout Kaye Pesquera, who scored 20 of her 22 points in the second half, led the Maroons. Rizza Lozada contributed 11 points and 6 rebounds, with Justine Domingo adding 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals to the effort. UP now boasts a 2-1 record, sitting comfortably in third place. FEU, on the other hand, dropped to 1-2, sharing the sixth spot with Adamson.

The Lady Tamaraws suffered a setback when senior Camille Taguiam was forced to exit early in the third quarter. The Maroons took advantage, launching a 24-3 run for a 50-45 edge.

In the losing effort for FEU, Kyla Go scored 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Shane Cunanan netted 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Previously, Adamson claimed a triumphant 97-69 victory over University of the East (UE), setting their record at 1-0.

Dindy Medina showcased her skills with 23 points, built on four three-pointers and 4 steals, to lead Adamson. The Lady Falcons stormed to a 24-point lead in the opening frame and never looked back. Rose Dampios chipped in 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field, while Angela Alaba contributed 10 points in under 10 minutes on the court.

Victoria Adeshina hauled down 11 rebounds and scored 6 points for Adamson, while UE managed only 69 points, with 17 points coming from Kone in a losing effort.
