Women surpass Pakistan's overall ODI centuries tally in centuries scored by a single player: Senior cricketer achieves record-breaking century against South Africa in women's ODI match
In a thrilling display of batting prowess, Pakistan's Women's cricket team's Sidra Amin scored her fifth One Day International (ODI) century, helping her team set South Africa a challenging 256-run target in a recent match.
Amin, who batted at No.3 in the second over of the match, ended the day unbeaten on 121 off 150 balls. Her innings took her total ODI centuries to five, making her the player with the most ODI hundreds for Pakistan women. Interestingly, she now has more ODI hundreds than all other Pakistan batters combined.
Amin's last century in an ODI was scored in 2023 against New Zealand in Queenstown. Today, she finished the match in Lahore with a single off the final ball of the 44th over, reaching her third ODI century in style.
Amin's impressive performance was complemented by Muneeba Ali, who scored her century against Ireland in the same match. The two put on a 149-run second-wicket partnership, providing a strong foundation for Pakistan's total. Muneeba Ali has played 50 matches, scored 1 century, and has 1,265 runs under her belt.
Javeria Khan, another consistent performer for Pakistan, scored 2 centuries and has 2,885 runs from her 116 matches. Khan currently holds the record for the most ODI centuries for Pakistan women, with a total of seven such innings.
International stars like Tammy Beaumont (12 ODI centuries), Smriti Mandhana (11 ODI centuries), Meg Lanning (15 ODI centuries), and Suzie Bates (13 ODI centuries) also continue to dominate the ODI scene.
Meanwhile, Shawaal Zulfiqar was dismissed by Ayabonga Khaka for a duck, leaving Pakistan's score at 150-2 in the 31st over of the innings.
