On Saturday, the hosts confidently secured their spot in the finals with a thrilling 4:2 victory over the Hamburger Polo Club. Goals from Phillip Jansen (55th minute) and Lucas Bachmann (57th) sealed the game in front of 3,400 spectators. Despite initial setbacks with Masi Pfandt (9th) and Lachlan Sharp (28th) equalizing the score, CHTC managed to turn things around. Their coach, Johannes Schmitz, was ecstatic: "We played amazing, aggressive hockey. The crowd's energy definitely fueled us!"

As for the men's competition, Cologne edged out defending champion Mannheimer HC in a tense penalty shootout, winning 4:3. After a 60-minute deadlock at 1:1, the game took an unexpected hour-long pause due to adverse weather conditions. In the end, Michel Struthoff delivered the winning shot for Cologne.

Defending champions Düsseldorf face concerns over star player Oruz

In a closely-contested semi-final, the defending champions Düsseldorfer HC narrowly defeated Großflottbeker THGC 2:1 (0:0). National player Lisa Nolte scored the winning goal minutes before the end, effectively playing one-on-one. "I just felt the ball coming to me. I wasn't planning to score that way, but I went for it and made it happen," said Nolte. Earlier, Friederike Heusgen (55th) had equalized Hamburg's lead.

With the final approaching on Sunday at 11:30, the DHC are fretting over their captain Selin Oruz, who injured her hand while defending a penalty corner. "I think it's broken. I'm heading to the hospital now to find out what they can do for me. I want to play," said the national player, who also practices medicine at the Krefeld clinic.

Meanwhile, Harvestehuder THC has clinched a surprising 1:0 victory over round-robin winner Mannheimer HC, guaranteeing their presence in the women's final set to kick off at 14:30 on Sunday.
