Get ready for an adrenaline-pumping weekend as the field hockey championships in Krefeld heat up! The women of Düsseldorf HC and the men from Crefelder HTC and Rot-Weiss Köln have secured their spot in the finals.

The men's title hopefuls, Krefeld HTC, clinched their victory on Saturday with a resounding 4:2 win against Hamburg Polo Club in front of a passionate crowd of 3,400 spectators. "Our offensive game was on fire, and the electrifying atmosphere definitely boosted our spirits," beamed Krefeld's coach, Johannes Schmitz, who is leading his team to the finals for the first time since their win in 2006. Phil Jansen (55th minute) and Lucas Bachmann (57th) netted the winning goals for Krefeld.

Meanwhile, Rot-Weiss Köln narrowly edged out defending champions Mannheimer HC in a penalty shootout following a 1:1 stalemate after 60 minutes. The match was delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions. Michel Struthoff scored the decisive goal for Cologne in the shootout.

Among the women, defending champions Düsseldorf HC beat Großflottbeker THGC 2:1, with a stunning solo goal from national player Lisa Nolte in the 68th minute. National player Selin Oruz, captain of the DHC, is a concern for the team as she has injured her hand during a penalty corner and fears it might be broken. "I'm off to the hospital now to get a proper look, but I'm determined to play," Oruz asserted.

This Sunday, both Cologne and Krefeld will face off at 14:30, while Düsseldorf will encounter Harvestehuder THC at 11:30. At present, there are no updates available regarding the schedule for the German field hockey finals on Sunday.
