Woman Jumps into Running Oldtimer and Speeds Off - Woman's Erratic Car Chase Causes €20k Damage in Germany

A 26-year-old woman's erratic behaviour led to a high-speed car chase and significant damage in Herrenberg and Böblingen, Germany. The incident ended with her arrest and hospitalisation.

The woman, who remains unidentified, stole a man's vintage car in Herrenberg. Despite the vehicle having only three tires and a bare rim, she drove it onto the A81 highway, reaching speeds over 100 km/h (62 mph). The car's owner reported the theft, leading to a police pursuit.

The chase ended when the car crashed into a guardrail near Böblingen. The impact caused an estimated €20,000 in damages. The car was left running with keys inside, suggesting the woman may have taken it impulsively. Authorities have not identified the psychiatrist who treated the woman after the incident, as she was taken to a psychiatric clinic due to her psychological state.

The stolen car, a classic model, suffered severe damage in the crash. The woman was arrested and hospitalised for psychiatric evaluation. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
