A woman has reached a settlement with a running club and a fellow runner after she fell and injured her wrist during a city run in Zwickau last May. The incident occurred at an annual race organized by the Motorsport Club Zwickau e.V.

The woman sued the club and the runner, seeking at least 4,000 euros in damages and reimbursement for travel costs. However, the Regional Court of Zwickau dismissed the case initially. Before the Higher Regional Court of Dresden, the parties reached a settlement.

The settlement found that the organizer, the Motorsport Club Zwickau e.V., did not meet all safety requirements. They deployed only one marshal instead of the required two and there was no barrier tape at the street corner where the woman fell. Both the woman and the runner were found to bear some blame for the accident, although the runner was cleared of any responsibility as he relied on the organizer to meet all safety standards.

The settlement brings closure to the incident. The woman and the runner have agreed to share the blame, while the organizer has acknowledged its failure to meet safety requirements. The specifics of the settlement, including the amount paid and any changes to future events, remain private.
