Gina Schumacher Bethke, the exciting equestrian and daughter of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, is back in the saddle and making waves in the reining world! Just eleven weeks after giving birth to her daughter Millie, Gina surprised everyone by triumphantly returning to one of the biggest Western tournaments - the "NRHA USA Derbys" in Oklahoma City.

As soon as Gina mounted her trusty steed, the captivated crowd couldn't help but marvel at her effortless elegance. Posting a series of photos on the Schumacher Ranch's Instagram account, they exulted, "First trip back to the show arena for Gina Schumacher Bethke after the birth of her beautiful daughter - and it's as if she never left." An image of Gina in her cowboy pants and blue shirt perfectly captured her vintage charm.
A Passionate Pursuit Bridging Generations
Defying expectations, Gina made it clear even before Millie's arrival that she'd remain dedicated to her equestrian passion. "I can't wait to start training again and show that Billy and I will be ready to go back into the show pen in Vegas for the qualifications," she penned on Instagram. And true to her word, the energetic rider continued training throughout her pregnancies, competing in her final Reining show in November 2024 - right in her fifth month!
Four Fantastic Steeds Await!
Hot on the heels of her comeback, Gina now battles it out with four superb horses at the NRHA USA Derby. The three-day tournament for four to seven-year-old horses is one of the largest international reining events and will run until June 22. Completing the preliminary rounds, Gina could go on to compete in the Tournament's showdown, the Non Pro Finale, on July 20. In 2024, she swept the floor with first, fourth, and sixth-place finishes!
Millie's Tiny Hand and A Love that Lasts Forever
Gina tied the knot with horse enthusiast Iain Bethke in September 2024. Living together on a beautiful ranch in Texas, both share a deep love for the equine world. As the saying goes, "Where horses go, love follows." On March 29, 2025, they welcomed Millie into their lives. Overjoyed beyond words, Gina announced the news on Instagram alongside a black-and-white snapshot of Millie's tiny hand:
