Woman in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky twice denied child support payment

In the Kamchatka Region, a woman from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky had her parental rights restored, thanks to the intervention of the General Prosecutor's Office. The woman had been denied a child allowance by the Social Fund of Kamchatka Region without proper explanation.

The event is associated with six unlawful refusals of support in the region, which occurred in 2024. The woman's complaint revealed a potential procedural error by the Social Fund, as they failed to explain the procedure for calculating the average per capita income of a family member.

The woman's application for child allowance was initially denied twice, but after filing a complaint with the Russian General Prosecutor's Office, her case was reopened. Following the prosecutor's intervention, the woman received a personal consultation and was granted an allowance of 15,346 rubles.

In total, 1.6 million rubles in monthly payments were allocated due to the prosecutor's intervention, ensuring that families in need received the support they were entitled to. This marks a significant step towards restoring families' rights in the Kamchatka Region.

The woman's name, along with other personal details, has not been disclosed to protect her privacy. However, her case serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the rights of families with children and ensuring that all necessary support is provided.

The event underscores the role of the General Prosecutor's Office in safeguarding the rights of citizens and ensuring that public institutions adhere to the law. As such, the intervention in this case has not only benefited the woman and her child but also set a precedent for future cases in the region.
