In Karnataka's Tumakuru district, a shocking tale of betrayal and murder unfolded. On June 24, in Kadashettihalli village, a 50-year-old man named Shankaramurthy was cold-bloodedly taken out by his wife, Sumangala, and her lover, Nagaraju.

Shankaramurthy lived alone on a farm in the village. The authorities suspect that the motive behind this heinous act was Shankaramurthy's disapproval of Sumangala's illicit affair with Nagaraju, who hailed from Karadalusante village.

In a chilling display of calculating cruelty, Sumangala attacked her husband. She blinded him with chili powder, viciously beat him with a club, and mercilessly pressed her foot against his neck, snuffing out his life.

Taking no chances, Sumangala and Nagaraju callously packed Shankaramurthy's lifeless body in a gunny sack and trekked roughly 30 kilometers to dispose of it in a well owned by a farm located under the jurisdiction of Dandanishivara police station in Turuvekere taluk.

Initially, the case was treated as a missing person report filed at Nonavinakere Police Station. However, during the searchoperation, the police discovered traces of chili powder and signs of a violent struggle at Shankaramurthy's farmhouse, which raised their suspicion.

Over the course of a thorough investigation and questioning, Sumangala's mobile Call Detail Records were scrutinized, providing valuable insights into her movements and connections. Grilled relentlessly, Sumangala eventually admitted to the murder and provided harrowing details of the crime.

Both Sumangala and Nagaraju have been apprehended by the authorities. The case was officially registered at Nonavinakere police station, and further investigations are currently in progress, delving into possible collaborators in the heinous act.
