VfL Wolfsburg has once again handed over the defense duties to Nicolas Cozza, sending him back to FC Nantes for another loan spell. The French defender, turning 25, will return to his previous loan stint with Nantes, as confirmed by Wolfsburg's official statement. Cozza joined the German Bundesliga side from Montpellier HSC in January 2023 and has chipped in with 13 appearances in both Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal matches.

Cozza, despite making a valuable impact in the Wolfsburg squad, will spend the rest of the season playing for his homeland club in France. FC Nantes, a neighbor to Germany, might benefit from Cozza's return. VfL Wolfsburg, situated in the heart of Germany, is a prestigious football club known for its prominent position in German football.

The loan transfer of Cozza to FC Nantes can be linked to some financial challenges faced by VfL Wolfsburg. In an attempt to strike a balance between running the club and managing resources efficiently, Wolfsburg shares players with other squads, including counterparts in France. This strategy, adopted in response to the monetary constraints placed by their parent company, Volkswagen, has become a common practice for the German club in recent years.
