Wolfgang Van Halen recalls discussing playing guitar on "Sweet Leaf" and "Changes," and shares his initial intentions for "Back To The Beginning" with Ozzy Osbourne.

In a remarkable turn of events, Wolfgang Van Halen, son of the legendary Eddie Van Halen, had a memorable encounter with the iconic Ozzy Osbourne at the Back To The Beginning concert in July.

The event, which marked one of Ozzy's final public appearances, took place at Villa Park in Birmingham. The concert featured performances from a host of heavy metal legends, including Metallica, Tool, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, and Gojira.

Wolfgang was announced as a performer for the concert, and it was not his first time collaborating with Ozzy. In fact, he was part of an all-star supergroup that performed Ozzy Osbourne songs at his Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony last October.

During the Back To The Beginning concert, Wolfgang had the opportunity to meet Ozzy backstage after the performance. They engaged in a conversation, with Wolfgang asking specific questions about stories his father had told him from when they toured together. He also inquired about the time Black Sabbath played with Van Halen on the Never Say Die! tour in 1978.

Ozzy, who performed both as a solo artist and as a part of Black Sabbath during the concert, was reported to have told Wolfgang that their performance was 'bloody brilliant'.

However, Wolfgang had to drop out of the concert due to a change in the event's rehearsal schedule. Despite this, he has announced a renewal of rehearsal dates for 'Back To The Beginning,' signaling ongoing or renewed preparation efforts related to that project.

Meanwhile, Wolfgang's own music career is thriving. He will release his third studio album with the Mammoth project, The End, via BMG on October 24. The third single from the upcoming album, I Really Wanna, came out on Thursday (September 11).

Unfortunately, just days after the Back To The Beginning concert, Ozzy Osbourne passed away following a heart attack. His death was a shock to the music industry and his countless fans worldwide.

As Wolfgang continues to make his mark in the music world, his encounter with Ozzy Osbourne at the Back To The Beginning concert will undoubtedly remain a cherished memory.
