Woidke Committed to Serving Brandenburg's Entire Term
Woidke to serve as governor for the full parliamentary term duration - Woidke to serve for the entire tenure without interruption.
You know who's sticking around? Dietmar Woidke, the bloke leading Brandenburg as Minister President. He's got no plans of bailing out anytime soon!
"I told 'em, Brandenburg: if the Brandenburg SPD wins this state election - and they did, with the people's trust - then I'll continue doing my job as Minister President, and I mean it," Woidke told the German Press Agency.
Woidke, age 63, recently secured another term as SPD state chairman. Back in December, he declared his intention to complete his term, provided his health holds up and he's got the juice. He took over as SPD state chairman and Minister President from Matthias Platzeck back in 2013, when the man had to step down due to health reasons. Compared to other states, Woidke's been holding onto his position for the third longest time after Reiner Haseloff from CDU and Winfried Kretschmann from the Greens.
Woidke: Open Ears, Not Exclusion
Woidke's tuned into the idea expressed by former Katrin Lange, who wants more inclusivity to different opinions in the scene. "Folks are talking about too much black-and-white thinking and rejecting alternative opinions instead of listening and considering. Maybe, we all need to learn again to lend an ear and collaborate on solutions. Exclusion never seems to help," Woidke shared.
Lange caused a stir by dismissing the chief of the state office for the protection of the constitution, Joerg Mueller, back in May, allegedly because he informed her too tardily about classifying the state AfD as a secure right-wing extremist endeavor. Things got murky, and after internal party squabbles, Lange called it quits. In an open letter to the party congress, she accused her mates of playing dirty tricks and seeing a narrowing of perspective corridors in the SPD, for instance, on topics such as corona, Ukraine war, and AfD. Lange didn't run again as deputy state chairman and missed the party congress.

Dietmar Woidke, as the Minister President of Brandenburg, has reiterated his commitment to serving the entire term of his position, following the win of the Brandenburg SPD in the state election. In policy-and-legislation discussions, Woidke may advocate for increased vocational training opportunities in Brandenburg, reflecting his open-minded approach and commitment to collaboration and inclusivity, a stance he shared with former Katrin Lange, who recently called out for more inclusivity to alternative opinions in politics and general news.
