Woestenschloot Incidents: Vandalism, Drugged Driver, and Serious Collision

Local authorities are investigating two incidents that occurred over the weekend in the Woestenschloot area. A fence device was damaged, and a driver was caught under the influence of drugs. Additionally, a collision resulted in injuries and significant vehicle damage.

On Sunday, June 15, and Monday, June 16, unknown individuals vandalised a fence device in the Woestenschloot area. The local police are currently investigating the incident.

In a separate incident, a 36-year-old driver from Friesoythe was stopped by police after exhibiting signs of driving under the influence. Tests revealed the driver had consumed cannabis and amphetamines. The driver was subsequently charged with a traffic offense.

Earlier that morning, a 52-year-old driver from Holtgatinghausen collided with an 18-year-old driver from Halen. The collision resulted in injuries to the 52-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger. Both vehicles sustained approximately €15,000 in damage.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the fence device vandalism to come forward. The driver caught under the influence of drugs has been charged, and the investigation into the collision is ongoing. The total cost of vehicle damage from both incidents amounts to approximately €35,000.
