WNBA under heated debate over dildos: "A bit absurd"

In a bizarre series of events, two men have been arrested in the United States for throwing dildos onto WNBA courts during games. These incidents, which occurred over a period of nearly two weeks, have been widely reported in multiple states.

The first man, Delbert Carver, 23, from Marietta, Georgia, threw a green sex toy onto a WNBA court on July 29 during a game between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries. He was arrested on August 1 and admitted to throwing the first sex toy as well as one on August 1. Carver is facing charges including disorderly conduct, indecent exposure, and trespassing.

The second man, Kaden Lopez, an 18-year-old from Waddell, Arizona, was arrested after allegedly throwing a green dildo during a Phoenix Mercury vs. Connecticut Sun game. The dildo hit an adult male and possibly a child, leading to charges of felony public display of obscene materials, assault, and disorderly conduct.

These incidents were tied to an online group promoting a crypto meme coin that started trading the day before the first dildo-throwing stunt. The group used derogatory comments about the WNBA and coordinated the disruptions as a publicity stunt to boost the coin’s value, which increased 300% in its first week.

The WNBA has strongly condemned these actions, describing them as dangerous, disrespectful, and humiliating to women athletes. They have instituted strict bans on anyone throwing objects onto the court to prevent further disruptions. Those responsible may face a one-year ban from arenas.

Leonie Fiebich, a German national player, is not amused by the disruptions. She expressed her disapproval, stating that they are silly and she does not understand their purpose. Despite the incidents, Fiebich does not believe they will harm the league's reputation.

The WNBA has taken action to address the disruptions, with the arrested men facing potential consequences for their actions under the law. The dildos are removed from the court, and the game continues after such incidents.
