WNBA Playoff Bracket Progress, Broadcast Information: Schedule, Results, TV Network, as Phoenix Mercury Eliminate New York Liberty to Reach Semifinals
The WNBA playoffs are heating up, and the semifinals are now set. After a thrilling series of games, four teams have emerged as the contenders for the championship.
The Las Vegas Aces, who advanced to the semifinals after beating the Seattle Storm, 74-73, in Game 3 of their series, will face the shorthanded and sixth-seeded Indiana Fever. The Fever pulled off an upset, eliminating the third-seeded Atlanta Dream in a decisive Game 3 of their series.
Meanwhile, the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx, who entered the playoffs as the WNBA's most dominant team throughout the 44-game regular season, will square off against the Phoenix Mercury. The Mercury advanced to the semifinals after defeating the New York Liberty, 79-73, in Game 3 of their series.
The best-of-five semifinals will begin on Sunday. Game 1 between the Aces and Fever will be on ESPN/fubo at 9:30 p.m., while Game 1 between the Lynx and Mercury will be on ESPN/fubo at 7:30 p.m.
The Lynx, who are looking for their fifth championship in team history and their first since 2017, will have home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. Minnesota's star player, Napheesa Collier, has been in top form, averaging 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in the playoffs so far.
The Aces, led by A'ja Wilson, who was named the WNBA MVP this season, will be a formidable opponent for the Fever. Wilson has been averaging 21.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in the playoffs.
The Fever, who are playing without star player Kelsey Mitchell due to an injury, have been relying on their depth and teamwork to pull off upsets. They will need to continue this trend if they hope to advance to the finals.
The Mercury, who are looking to bounce back from their loss to the Lynx in Game 1, will be counting on their star player, Satou Sabally, to lead them to victory. Sabally has been averaging 18.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in the playoffs.
All games in the playoffs will be streamed on fubo. Game 2 between the Aces and Fever will be on ABC/fubo at 3 p.m., while Game 2 between the Lynx and Mercury will be on ESPN/fubo at 7:30 p.m.
The WNBA Finals schedule (best-of-seven) includes Game 1 on ESPN/fubo at 8 p.m. on Oct. 3. Game 4 between the Aces and Fever will be on ABC/fubo at 3 p.m., while Game 4 between the Mercury and Lynx will be on ESPN/fubo at 1 or 5 p.m. Game 5 between the Aces and Fever will be on ESPN/fubo, date and time TBD, as will Game 5 between the Lynx and Mercury.
