Dallas Wings Rookie Paige Bueckers Enters WNBA's Concussion Protocol, Set to Miss Two Games

ARLINGTON, Texas — Dallas Wings rookie guard Paige Bueckers, the first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft out of UConn, has been placed in the league's concussion protocol. The team announced the move on Friday, following a 97-92 loss to the Chicago Sky on Thursday night.

Details regarding the injury are scarce, with the team providing no specifics on what led to Bueckers entering protocol. In that game, Bueckers shone with 15 points, eight assists, and five rebounds.

Due to the concussion, Bueckers will be sidelined for the Wings' game against the Sky on Saturday and their match against the Seattle Storm on Tuesday. She will undergo re-evaluation after the second missed game, with her earliest possible return on June 6 when the Wings host the Los Angeles Sparks.

In her professional debut, Bueckers has been a standout player, averaging 14.7 points, 6.7 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, playing a team-high 33.9 minutes. Her absence casts added pressure on fellow key players, like Arike Ogunbowale, who scored a career-high 37 points in the game following Bueckers' injury.
