Blake Lively Facing Off Against Justin Baldoni Under Oath

Testimony under oath during the trial is what she is expected to do. - Witness under Oath: Testimony Expected at the Trial

Get ready for a guaranteed showdown! Actress Blake Lively (37) is stepping up to the plate to testify under oath in the impending trial against her co-star and director Justin Baldoni (41) in the "It Ends with Us" drama. Her legal representative Mike Gottlieb confirmed this juicy tidbit in a chat with U.S. magazine "People".

"You bet your sweet bippy," Gottlieb said, when asked if Lively would take the stand. "The crux of this whole shebang is going to court. We're expecting that to be the deal here. Naturally, we plan for her to testify in this trial."

Witness Galore

Lively's lawyer also dished that she won't be the only one wearing a witness cap. "There are folks who've witnessed some sleazy shenanigans or been around for it, which ties in neatly with Mrs. Lively's complaints," Gottlieb pointed out. "We expect those testimonies, particularly about shenanigans on set, to back up her story."

Rumors about Lively joining the trial escalated in late April, after her powerful speech at the Time100 Gala. Before dropping a bombshell about her mom escaping a lethal assault from a workplace assailant before her birth, the actress hinted at the controversy and spilled, "You wouldn't believe what's happened to me the last couple of years!"

As for whether Ryan Reynolds (48), Lively's better half, will also spill the tea remains a moot point. Reynolds is currently on Baldoni's naughty list, being named in Baldoni's counterclaim. Lively's crew, however, is hell-bent on shunning those claims. "Our idea is that they're unfounded," Gottlieb stated, adding that Reynolds "might or might not be a witness."

Star-Studded Testimony or Bust?

In the last few months, Baldoni's team teased the possibility of subpoenaing heavyweights like Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman. Gottlieb, however, is none too pleased about that: "It's all hazy what these celebs have to do with this case. This is a trial about what Blake Lively endured when she lambasted sexual harassment on set. It ain't about choosing tunes for the flic, or Superhero chit-chat from Deadpool movies."

Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman debunked Gottlieb's claims in a statement and chucked the blame back at Lively and her gang: "Regardless of their discomfort, the truth ain't no distraction. The raw truth has been clearly shown via unaltered evidence, papers, and real-time footage."

The whole kerfuffle originated from the filming of the movie "It Ends with Us" in 2024, which dropped in August. In December, Lively lodged a complaint with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, followed by a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and a smear campaign against her. The lawsuit was filed against Wayfarer Studios and several production gurus.

Baldoni waved off the allegations and unleashed a $400 million counterclaim, tagging Lively, Reynolds, Lively's publicist Leslie Sloane, and their firm Vision PR with defamation and civil extortion - charges that Lively's lawyers call a "load of malarkey."

The trial is set to go down in March 2026.
