Blake Lively Steps Up for Testimony Under Oath

Witness to Swear Oath in Upcoming Trial - Witness to Appear under Sworn Statement in the Court Hearing

Get ready for some stellar courtroom drama! Actress Blake Lively (37), best known for her roles in "Gossip Girl" and "The Age of Adaline," will personally take the stand and testify under oath in the hotly anticipated trial against her "It Ends with Us" co-star and director, Justin Baldoni (41).

In a candid interview with U.S. magazine "People," Lively's lawyer, Mike Gottlieb, confirmed the revelation with a swift "Yeah."

"The pivotal moment of the complainant's narrative will unfold in court, and we anticipate the same applies to this case," Gottlieb stated emphatically. "Naturally, we expect Lively to serve as a witness in her own trial."

A Crowded Courtroom

It's not just Lively who will be gracing the witness stand. Gottlieb also disclosed that there will be a plethora of other witnesses testifying in court. "There are individuals who were witnesses to bad behavior or have experienced it and are pertinent to Mrs. Lively's accusations," Gottlieb asserted. "We expect their testimonies, especially regarding set events, will substantiate her claims."

The chatter around Lively's pivotal role in the trial began in late April after her speech at the Time100 Gala. With a dramatic flourish, Lively unveiled on stage that her mother had narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by a "known industry colleague" before Lively was born. Hinting at the ongoing case, Lively added c cryptically, "There's so much to say about the last two years of my life."

The Husband Question

The fate of Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds (48), as a potential witness remains undecided. Reynolds is currently cited in Baldoni's countersuit but Lively's legal team is working diligently to have these accusations dismissed. "Our stance is that the claims against Reynolds are unfounded," Gottlieb stated, leaving the question of Reynolds' potential testimony open-ended.

Whose Stars are Witnesses?

Recent rumblings suggest that Baldoni's legal team may call upon A-listers like Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman as witnesses. However, Lively's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, finds these moves unnecessary. "It's ambiguous how these celebrities pertain to the case. This is a case about the mistreatment Blake Lively faced during the filming of 'It Ends with Us.' It's not a case about music selections for the film or fictional Marvel characters in Deadpool," Freedman firmly stated.

A Brief History

The legal kerfuffle derives from the production of the movie "It Ends with Us" in 2024, which hit theaters in August that year. Lively lodged a complaint with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing in December, followed by a lawsuit that alleged sexual harassment and a smear campaign against her. The lawsuit named Wayfarer Studios and several others in the production process as defendants.

Baldoni disputed the allegations and counter-sued for defamation and civil extortion - accusations that Lively's lawyers dismiss as "unfounded." The trial is slated to commence in March 2026.
