Witness Testimony on Diddy's Trial Day 20: Witness Claims Combs Called Her the Devil, Made Violent Threats Against Her Life

The 20th trial day of the sex-trafficking and racketeering conspiracy case against Sean "Diddy" Combs** was marked by a chilling account of fear and danger, as a longtime pal of his ex-lover Cassie Ventura testified that Combs attacked her in 2016 without provocation, lifted her off a 17th-floor balcony, and tossed her into a coffee table.

"I was trembling like crazy and then I yearned for a shower because I felt unwell," Bryana Bongolan told the jury, detailing the alleged incident.

Bongolan declared that the brutal assault left her bruised and in pain, and the alleged event underscored the prosecutors' recurring theme that behind the veneer of success and talent, Combs is a violent man who purportedly uses fear and threats of physical harm to run a criminal enterprise designed to satisfy his carnal appetites.

Combs is accused of compelling women like Ventura into extended, drug-fueled sex parties called "freak-offs." Combs allegedly used his wealth, influence, connections, and status in the music industry to punish those who defied his desires. Combs claims he is innocent of these charges.

"[Combs] approached me really close and said something like, 'I'm the devil and I can kill you,'" Bongolan reportedly told the jury, her voice trembling.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and prostitution. If found guilty on all counts, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

During Wednesday's interrogation of Bongolan, Combs' legal team attempted to undermine her testimony by highlighting her past drug use, pointing out inconsistencies in her account, and suggesting she was financially motivated to testify against Combs.

Bongolan sued Combs in 2024 over the alleged balcony episode, stating she was willing to settle her claims for $10 million in damages. Combs denies the allegations, and the lawsuit is ongoing. She admitted in court that she struggled with drugs, regularly took cocaine and ketamine with Ventura, and sold drugs to both Combs and Ventura.

Bongolan testified that she was compelled to appear due to a subpoena from authorities and that she was granted immunity, ensuring prosecutors wouldn't charge her for any crimes she divulged in court. She is the third witness to be granted immunity as the prosecution seeks a guilty verdict against a man who was once a tastemaker in the worlds of music and fashion. Combs' former personal assistant, George Kaplan, and hotel security guard Eddy Garcia received similar immunity before appearing in the Manhattan courtroom.

Bongolan recalls the alleged attack

Bongolan testified that the violent incident occurred in September 2016 when she spent the night with her ex-girlfriend at Ventura's apartment. She told the jury that Combs started pounding on the door loudly and demanded entry, leading Bongolan to hide her girlfriend in the bathroom.

"I didn't want to expose her to the things I had witnessed," she testified.

Then, Bongolan testified, she went to the balcony to act casual, smoking a blunt, when Combs came up behind her and attempted to fling her over the railing.

"He hoisted me and then had me on top of the rail," Bongolan recalled. "For a moment, I thought I was going to fall, but for the most part, he was yelling at me, so I was trying to answer him."

Bongolan said she was held up for about 15 seconds as Combs repeatedly screamed, "You know what the f**k you did."

"Sitting here today, do you have any idea what he was talking about?" prosecutor Madison Smyser asked.

"I still have no idea," she responded. She spoke softly about the incident, occasionally using her hands to demonstrate where Combs grabbed her.

Bongolan told the jury that Combs then threw her into a coffee table on the balcony before Ventura intervened to halt the attack. She stated she swiftly left the apartment following the alleged attack and later noticed the extent of her injuries.

"I was trembling like crazy and then I wanted to take a shower because I felt unwell," she testified, adding that she noticed a large purple bruise on her leg with a small puncture wound in the middle of it. Jurors saw a photo of the bruise, as well as other images of her bandaged back.

Bongolan testified that she communicated with Combs days after the attack, allegedly telling him, "I don't want any problems from you," and she told the court she did not report the incident to authorities because she was "too frightened" of Combs.

"I have nightmares. I have a lot of paranoia, and I used to scream a lot in my sleep sometimes," Bongolan told the jury about the lingering effects of the alleged attack.
