The Russian government has announced a significant move to enhance regulatory control over products from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Following President Vladimir Putin's instructions, the government is set to revoke product conformity certificates issued by EAEU countries if these were issued with violations.

According to the official publication on the Kremlin’s website, the Russian government is mandated to terminate or invalidate such certificates within the territory of Russia by December 30, 2025. This directive aims to ensure that non-compliant products are prevented from circulating within Russia's market.

Legal amendments are being developed to enable the termination or invalidation of documents on product conformity assessment that were issued or accepted in violation of mandatory requirements or established procedures by member states of the EAEU. Alongside these amendments, the government is required to formulate a mechanism for the withdrawal and suspension of goods released under these invalid certificates.

This move demonstrates Russia’s strengthening regulatory control over EAEU goods and the harmonization of product safety standards in cross-border trade within the Union. The changes also aim to support domestic producers and protect the Russian market from unsafe products.

Agencies in Russia are tasked with developing legal tools to halt the production and circulation in the Russian market of products whose certificates have been declared invalid. A mechanism for removing such products from the market to prevent further sales must be created.

By the end of 2025, the Russian government is required to amend legislation to enable the cancellation of product conformity certificates issued by EAEU countries with violations. This initiative underscores Russia's commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of products within its borders.

The upcoming amendments in policy-and-legislation are aimed at strengthening the Russian government's control over products from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), with a focus on politics related to product safety and general-news. As a result, the government is developing legal tools to cancel certificates issued by EAEU countries with violations, and will create mechanisms for the withdrawal and suspension of non-compliant goods by the end of 2025.
