Witcher protagonist Geralt embarks on a gory narrative in the latest comic, The Witcher: Blood Stone, where he delves into lethal dwarven mines to slay monstrous creatures.
The world of The Witcher is set to expand with the upcoming four-issue miniseries, The Witcher: Blood Stone, scheduled to commence in January 2026. This new addition to the long-running fantasy series promises a gripping tale of greed and unhealed wounds, as revealed by author Daniel Freedman.
Daniel Freedman, acclaimed for his work on Birdking, Kali, and more, will be the writer for this exciting new miniseries. His involvement has been met with enthusiasm by Marcin Zwierzchowski, franchise creative editor/writer at CD Projekt Red, who praises the dream team of Daniel Freedman, Pius Bak, and Roman Titov for crafting the story of The Witcher: Blood Stone.
Pius Bak, known for his work on Slightly Exaggerated and Godfather of Hell, will be responsible for the series' art, while Roman Titov, who previously worked on Cyberpunk 2077: Big City Dreams, will handle the coloring. Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, who worked on The Witcher: The Bear and the Butterfly, will be the letterer for the series.
The story unfolds in a deadly dwarven mine, where treasure hunters have mysteriously met their end. However, Geralt of Rivia, a character known from books, RPG series, and the Netflix hbonow show, finds no signs of the horned beast mentioned in the official plot description. Instead, he delves deeper into the labyrinth of the dwarven caves, braving the deadly movies surrounding the mines.
The mines, it seems, are even deadlier than the movies. The plot description warns that they should be left untouched, but Geralt's quest for truth and justice leads him into the heart of danger.
The first issue of The Witcher: Blood Stone, titled Blood Stone #1, will officially launch on January 28, 2026. With Pius Bak providing the cover art and variant covers for #1 provided by Gigi Cavenago, Gigi Cavenago, and Patrycja Podkościelny, fans can expect a visually stunning netflix series that matches the intrigue and suspense of the story.
As The Witcher 4 is one of many upcoming games from CD Projekt Red, fans of the series have much to look forward to in the coming years. With The Witcher: Blood Stone set to kick off in January 2026, it's clear that the world of The Witcher is far from over. Daniel Freedman expresses his excitement about leaving his mark on this long-running series, and with good reason. The Witcher: Blood Stone promises to be a thrilling addition to the franchise.
