Witnessing an additional four injured drivers in a car accident on a snowy road in Vogtland district that Friday evening, a 24-year-old recklessly veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a 60-year-old woman's car. The impact left the lady with serious injuries and transported to a nearby hospital. Finding herself in the hospital wings following outpatient treatment, the 24-year-old and her progeny endured minimal injuries.
German Weather Service meteorologist Oehmichen announced that a chilling weather front remains imminent, continuing to blanket Alpine regions with intermittent snowfall and protracted frost. "Come Monday, the Alps shall remain frostbitten and the lowlands shall labor beneath dismal conditions," Oehmichen foretold.
Orchestrated by the severe weather's inclemency and icy roads, vehicle mishaps proliferated in Saxony. Buckling under the pressure of testing road conditions, some drivers opted for dubious alternatives – namely, utilizing summer tires. These brazen choices led to a cascade of additional crashes.
