Winter storm watch disrupts Thanksgiving travel in North Dakota and Minnesota

A winter storm watch has been issued for parts of North Dakota and Minnesota ahead of Thanksgiving week. The system is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and hazardous travel conditions from late Monday into Wednesday.

The earliest effects will hit the eastern third of North Dakota, including the Devils Lake basin, as early as late Monday night. The storm will then track west to east, covering much of North Dakota and Minnesota.

The winter storm watch carries a 70% chance of minor travel disruptions during the Thanksgiving holiday. Drivers are advised to prepare for rapidly changing conditions, including heavy snow and reduced visibility. The system will clear by Wednesday, but colder weather will persist across the region.
