Winnipeg Jets Trim Training Camp Roster Ahead of NHL Season

The Winnipeg Jets have made several moves ahead of the new NHL season. Defenders Phil Di Giuseppe and Mason Shaw have joined the Manitoba Moose on loan after clearing waivers. Meanwhile, the Jets have placed Tyrel Bauer and Isaak Phillips on waivers for the same destination. The team has also released Ashton Sautner and Dawson Barteaux from professional tryout agreements.

With the deadline for NHL teams to submit their 23-man opening-night roster approaching on Monday, the Jets have trimmed their training camp roster. Kieron Walton has been loaned back to his junior team, the OHL's Sudbury Wolves. The Jets now have 35 players left in camp, excluding injured players Adam Lowry and Dylan Samberg. More cuts are expected before the Jets' final exhibition game against the Calgary Flames on Friday. Sautner and Barteaux, under AHL contracts with the Moose, will report to the team on Wednesday.

The Jets' roster moves reflect their preparations for the upcoming season. With the deadline looming, they continue to evaluate and adjust their lineup. The Manitoba Moose, their AHL affiliate, will see several new faces as a result of these transactions.
