Winner Streak Extends to Twelfth Game for Brewers, Rewarding Wisconsin Residents with Complimentary Burgers
George Webb's Free Burger Promotion Triggered Again as Milwaukee Brewers Win 12th Consecutive Game
In a tradition that dates back to the 1940s, George Webb Restaurants have once again promised to give away free burgers to fans across Wisconsin. This comes after the Milwaukee Brewers secured their 12th consecutive victory, a feat last achieved in 2018.
The winning streak was cemented on Wednesday, as the Brewers triumphed over the Pittsburgh Pirates with a score of 12-5. This victory not only secures free burgers for the entire state but also places the Brewers at the top of the Major League Baseball (MLB) with a record of 76-44.
This is the third time in history that George Webb's free burger promotion has been triggered. The first time was in 1987 when the Brewers won an unprecedented 13 games in a row to start the season, resulting in the distribution of nearly 170,000 free burgers. The second occasion was in 2018, when the Brewers won 12 straight games spanning the regular season and playoffs, leading to 90,000 free burgers and 100,000 voucher giveaways.
During their current 12-game winning streak, the Brewers have scored an impressive 103 runs. This makes them the second franchise in the last 80 seasons to score at least 100 runs during a 12-game winning streak.
Milwaukee will have a day off on Thursday before they look to tie their franchise record on Friday against the Reds in Cincinnati. The Brewers have shown formidable form during their winning streak, scoring 12 or more runs in back-to-back games for the first time since 2018.
George Webb has honoured its promise twice before, once in 1987 and once in 2018. The promotion is a longstanding Milwaukee tradition celebrating Brewers’ 12-game win streaks with free burgers offered by George Webb Restaurants to fans throughout the region.
