Wine Royalty Set to Grace Our 40th Site Event

Wine enthusiasts mark your calendars: The time-honored Winemakers' Festival is set to unfold before Barmer's town hall from August 1st to 3rd, 2025. As this is its 40th edition, the reigning German Wine Queen, Charlotte Weihl from Gönnheim in the Pfalz, will grace the event in person.

Wine Royalty Set to Grace Our 40th Site Event

Wine Festival Kicks Off in Wuppertal

Wuppertal, Germany - Get ready for a delightful three-day celebration as the city prepares to host the annual wine festival. Starting from August 1st, Johannes-Rau-Platz in front of the town hall will transform into a vibrant hub of wine, music, and entertainment.

The festival will showcase around 150 different wine and sparkling wine specialties from the Rhine Palatinate, Rheinhessen, Mosel, Nahe, and Ahr. Winemakers will be present to share their unique creations, providing an excellent opportunity to explore and taste the best of German wine.

The program is filled with music and entertainment. On Friday, the live band "Shabby Chic" from Wuppertal will perform, setting the tone for a lively evening. On Saturday, "The Woodmen" band and show dance performances by the city of Wuppertal's Prince's Guard, led by President Nordhild Neumeyer, will take centre stage from 6 PM. On Sunday, the Federal Railway Orchestra will perform from 2 PM to 4 PM, under the direction of Alexander Sojka.

Guests can relax and enjoy their wine under tables and benches under white tent canopies. Snacks and suitable refreshments will be available throughout the festival.

The festival will also see the inauguration of the new German Wine Queen, Charlotte Weihl, who has been in office since 2025. Charlotte, a student of international wine business, aims to interpret the office of German Wine Queen in a modern way and to address a younger audience. She has brought the crown to the Pfalz for the eleventh time, marking a significant milestone in her tenure.

Marlies Puetz, a former German Wine Queen, will also be in attendance. Puetz, who was known as Marlies Steffen, geb. Puetz, in Wuppertal, was crowned German Wine Queen in 1950. She was active in the city council of Wuppertal and lived in the city for a significant part of her life.

The festival promises to be a celebration of wine, music, and culture, providing an excellent opportunity to enjoy the best of German wine and entertainment. So, mark your calendars and join us at Johannes-Rau-Platz for an unforgettable wine festival experience!
