Wincanton's Keagan Kirkby Raceday Wins RCA Judges' Choice Award
Wincanton Racecourse has scooped the prestigious Racecourse Association (RCA) Judges' Choice award for its Carrie Keagan raceday. The event, held in memory of the late jockey Carrie Keagan, raised funds for the Injured Jockeys Fund and Racing Welfare.
Wincanton's triumph comes amidst stiff competition, with Arena Racing Company, Chelmsford, Chester, Musselburgh, Ripon, and York also receiving multiple nominations. A total of 34 racecourses or organisations made the final cut for the Showcase Awards. The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in York, PA on November 13.
Blaithin Murphy, Wincanton's general manager, expressed gratitude for the award, highlighting Carrie Keagan's lasting legacy. Paul Swain, the RCA's head of raceday experience and communications, praised the commitment and competitiveness among racecourses.
