Wim Wenders to Become Berlinale Jury President - Wim Wenders to Preside Over 2026 Berlinale as Jury President

Wim Wenders will lead the international jury at the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival. The 80-year-old director, a key figure in New German Cinema, takes on the role in his hometown. His past films include Paris, Texas, Wings of Desire, and Perfect Days.

The festival, known as the Berlinale, will run from February 12 to 22, 2026. As jury president, Wenders will oversee the selection of the Golden Bear for Best Film and the Silver Bears. He will watch every competition entry and guide discussions with the jury.

Wenders previously won the Golden Bear for Lifetime Achievement in 2015. His return to the festival now places him in a central role. The director has described the opportunity as an exciting challenge.
