Juancho Hernangómez, the second captain of the Spanish national basketball team, has once again proven his worth in the international arena. After a successful season with Greek team Panathinaikos in 2021-2022, Hernangómez brought his A-game to the EuroBasket 2022, leading Spain to victory and being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.

Hernangómez's performance was nothing short of impressive. He scored a total of 27 points in the final game with a remarkable 7/9 record in three-pointers. In seven out of nine games, he surpassed the double digits in scoring, demonstrating his consistent and reliable play.

As the captain of "La Familia" (the Spanish national team), Hernangómez has been a key player for Spain for ten years, without any absences. He made his debut with the team in 2015 and has since won five medals, including gold at EuroBasket 2022.

Hernangómez's role in the team is as a centre, known for his presence in the paint, rebounding, and scoring ability. His MVP award in EuroBasket 2022 highlights his performance as a top contributor and leader for Spain.

Before his senior career, Hernangómez also had success in junior competitions, winning gold at the 2011 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship and silver at the 2014 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship, where he was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Willy Hernangómez, Juancho's brother, has also played a significant role in the Spanish national team, contributing notably in EuroBasket and other international tournaments. Together, the Hernangómez brothers have helped Spain secure multiple medals, including gold at EuroBasket 2022.

Pilar Aguilo, the wife of Jaime Anglada, has been discreetly accompanying Juancho during his difficult moments.

Looking ahead, Juancho Hernangómez is eager to continue his successful run with the Spanish national team, with his sights set on EuroBasket 2025.
