Content Creator Willi Whey Will Learn Choreographies Despite Bad Memory - Willi Whey Swaps Stunts for Sequins in Let's Dance 2026

Social media star Willi Whey will take part in the 2026 season of Let's Dance. Known for his extreme challenges and online presence, he now steps onto the dance floor for the first time. The 31-year-old content creator has built a massive following, with over two million on Instagram and seven million on TikTok.

Born Willi Banner on August 31, 1994, in Bad Saarow, Brandenburg, he began as a competitive athlete. In his youth, he won national and international titles before shifting to online entertainment. His big break came during the COVID-19 pandemic, when his daring stunts and engaging videos under the handle williwhey made him a household name.

Whey has already faced extreme challenges on TV and streaming platforms. Now, he wants to push himself further by joining Let's Dance. His main worry? Memorising the dance steps.

The show pairs celebrities with professional dancers, with judges Motsi Mabuse, Joachim Llambi, and Jorge González scoring each performance. Whey is one of six contestants in this season who have previously had their own TV show or long-term roles in German television. Others include Simon Gosejohann, Bianca Heinicke, Esther Schweins, Sonya Kraus, Ross Antony, and Nadja Benaissa.

Whey's participation marks a shift from extreme stunts to ballroom dancing. His large online following could bring new viewers to the show. The 2026 season will test whether his athleticism translates to success on the dance floor.
