Will CSKA see the returning champion of the Stanley Cup?

Rewrite

Sergei Fedorov, a three-time Stanley Cup champ and ex-coach of hockey squad CSKA, recent statements affirm he ain't interested in reclaiming his coaching seat. Word on the street is from TASS.

"Nope, ain't got any chats with the club, won't be the head coach," the specialist declared.

On April 29, CSKA had given notice to Vорobyev regarding his coaching post.

Adorning CSKA for less than a year, Vорobyev took charge of the army club for the 2024/25 Continental Hockey League (KHL) season.

Under his direction, the army club ended up fifth in the Western Conference of the KHL, with 85 points from 68 encounters. They sneaked into the playoffs but got knocked out in the initial round of the Gagarin Cup. The army team couldn't make it past Minsk Dynamo, with the series ultimately ending 2-4 after six games.

Rumors abound that Fedorov could capture the position of power, leading the Moscow club to two Gagarin Cup triumphs in 2022 and 2023.

Previously, "Lokomotiv" and "Avangard" made KHL history.
