In British Columbia, the wildfire situation continues to be a cause for concern as the latest update from the BC Wildfire Service reveals approximately 120 active wildfires across the province.

The Cariboo region, in particular, is facing challenges, with at least one active evacuation order still in place. The Holtry Creek area, however, has seen some positive developments, as the evacuation alert issued by the Cariboo Regional District and the Ulkatcho First Nation has been lifted.

The BC Wildfire Service's latest update also advises caution during outdoor recreational activities, urging residents and visitors to exercise caution due to the continued threat of new fires across much of the province.

In a positive turn of events, nine wildfires have been declared out in the last 24 hours. However, three new wildfires have been discovered, highlighting the need for vigilance. It's important to note that no new wildfires have been discovered in the latest update.

The weather forecast offers some hope, with showers expected to begin in northwestern B.C. and stretch down to Vancouver Island, potentially aiding in the fight against the wildfires. Unfortunately, the southern portions of the province will remain warm and dry, while the Cariboo region and southeastern B.C. are expected to experience hot, dry, and windy conditions.

The BC Wildfire Service's latest update does not specify any changes in the number of active wildfires. It's also worth noting that the report was first published on September 19, 2025.

Several evacuation alerts remain active in the Cariboo region, underscoring the ongoing efforts to manage the wildfires and ensure the safety of residents and visitors. The BC Wildfire Service has not provided information about the leader who issued the warning about the new fires in many areas of the province.

As the situation continues to evolve, it's crucial for everyone to stay informed and follow the advice of local authorities for their safety and the safety of their communities.
