In a series of shocking revelations, Minister Nyesom Wike has accused General Saham, the current Chief of Defence Staff within the Nigerian security forces, of attempting to assassinate him during the 2019 general elections.

The allegations stem from an incident where a colonel refused to carry out General Saham's directive to assassinate Wike. The colonel's bravery led to Wike's escape, but he was detained for six months as a result.

Wike has been vocal about his strained relationship with General Saham, stating that he deliberately avoided the office of the National Security Adviser after learning that General Saham was working there. He further alleged that General Saham ordered that he should be shot.

In a surprising turn of events, Wike also declared that he and his associates are agents of Tinubu, a prominent political figure. This statement has added fuel to the already heated political landscape.

In response to criticisms from opposition governors about alleged intimidation, Wike argued that they did not face the kind of threats he endured during his time in office. He has also hinted at his potential exit from his current position, fueling speculation about his political future.

The political drama has not spared General Saham's former associate, Sowore, who has been accused by Wike's aide of being a hypocrite and trusting no one apart from himself.

The allegations against General Saham have sparked a wave of controversy, with many calling for an investigation into the matter. The General has yet to respond publicly to these accusations.

As the political landscape in Nigeria continues to shift, the allegations against General Saham and Minister Wike's responses have added a new layer of complexity to the ongoing power struggle.
