Wife of Former Rajasthan Minister Perishes During Period of Custody in Investigative Agency
Jaipur: In a tragic turn of events, Kaushal Joshi, the wife of former Rajasthan minister and Congress leader Mahesh Joshi, passed away at a hospital in Jaipur this morning after a prolonged battle with brain hemorrhage.
The sorrowful news comes just four days after Mahesh Joshi was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with allegations of financial irregularities in the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Rajasthan.
Following the sad news, Mahesh Joshi's lawyer, Deepak Chauhan, submitted an application for interim bail in the special court for Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) cases. The court granted him temporary relief for four days.
After completing the necessary procedures, Mr. Joshi, joined by his lawyer, returned to his residence to pay his final respects to his deceased wife.
Expressing their sympathies, various political leaders such as former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, state Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra, leader of opposition Tikaram Jully, former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, and many others from the Congress party, condoled the demise.
BJP leader and former leader of opposition, Rajendra Rathore, also visited Mr. Joshi's residence to extend his condolences.
