The world-renowned Oktoberfest in Munich is set to return in 2024, and with it, the traditional beer tents that make the festival a unique experience. Here's a rundown of the tents, their hosts, and the highlights you can expect this year.

The Schottenhamel Tent, hosted by Christian, Michael F., and Konstantin Schottenhamel, is the first stop for many Oktoberfest-goers. With a seating capacity of 6288 (indoor) and 2742 (outdoor), it's one of the largest tents. The tent's balcony offers a stunning view of the Ferris wheel, the Bavaria statue, and the sunset, complete with joyful Oktoberfest celebrations. Traditionally, the first beer barrel is tapped on the Schottenhamel stage by the current Munich Mayor to mark the start of the festival.

The Schottenhamel Tent also hosts the annual Oktoberfest shooting event by the Bavarian Shooting Sports Association, and Arnold Schwarzenegger occasionally visits to conduct the orchestra.

Just a stone's throw away, the Schützen Tent is hosted by Eduard Reinbold and Family. With a seating capacity of 4923 plus 120 standing places (indoor) and 1235 (outdoor), it's another popular choice. From the balcony, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Oktoberfest grounds, including the Ferris wheel and the Bavaria statue. The beer price is set at 15.40 Euro for 2024.

The Volkssänger Tent Schützenlisl, hosted by Christine and Lorenz Stiftl, offers a more intimate atmosphere with a seating capacity of 1396 (indoor) and 400 (outdoor). It's recognized as a Munich Ökoprofit business and a climate-neutral festival tent since 2023. Here, you can enjoy folk music, Gstanzl, and brass band music, with host Traudi Siferlinger performing on stage every day. The beer price is 14.90 Euro for 2024.

The Löwenbräu-Festzelt, hosted by Stephanie and Lukas Spendler, is another popular choice. With a seating capacity of 5700 (indoor) and 2800 (outdoor), it's one of the largest tents. The tent features the daily cover version of the Beatles classic "Hey Jude", which is one of the best musical moments at the Oktoberfest. The beer price is 15.40 Euro for 2024.

The Boandlkramerei, hosted by Peter and Petra Schöniger, offers a family atmosphere and has been present at the Oktoberfest since 2024. The ensemble performs several times daily, presenting scenes around the Brandner Kaspar, the Boandlkramer, and Petrus. The beer price is 14.80 Euro.

The Ochsenbraterei Tent, hosted by Antje Haberl and Luis Haberl, is the place to be if you're a fan of roast oxen. All oxen consumed during Oktoberfest in the Ochsenbraterei are immortalized on boards with their names and weights. The tent has a seating capacity of 3900 (indoor) and 1646 (outdoor), and the beer price is 15.35 Euro for 2024.

The Marstall-Festzelt, hosted by Siegfried Able, Sabine Able, and Verena Strobl (née Able), is known for its colorful Art Nouveau exterior facade and the illuminated quadriga inside, which is one of the most special sights at the Wiesn. The beer price is 15.40 Euro for 2024.

Lastly, the Paulaner Tent, hosted by Arabella Schörghuber, is the largest tent with a seating capacity of 6385 (indoor) and 1980 (outdoor). The beer price is 15.40 Euro for 2024.
