Wiesbaden's Carnival parade disrupts bus services on February 15
Wiesbaden's bus services will face major changes on Sunday, February 15, due to the Carnival parade. Several lines will be suspended, rerouted, or shortened to accommodate the event. Passengers are advised to plan ahead as disruptions are expected throughout the day.
From early morning, Lines 3, 6, and 33 will skip the Mainzer Straße stop inbound between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Line 1 will only operate between Kochbrunnen/Geisberg and Nerotal, while Line 48 will bypass Luisenplatz/Kirchgasse from 10:00 AM to 5:15 PM, instead starting and ending at Hauptbahnhof.
Line 17 will be completely suspended for the day. Services to Klarenthal will be covered by Line 14, and routes to Bierstadt will be handled by Line 24. This line will also run via Wolfsfeld all day, connecting Bierstadter Straße/Kleine Wilhelmstraße/Heßloch and Klarenthaler Straße/Frauenstein from around 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Line 45 will make four trips from Zeilstraße to Klarenthaler Straße between 11:45 AM and 1:15 PM. Return trips will depart Klarenthaler Straße at 3:05 PM, 3:35 PM, and 4:05 PM. On February 16, Line 24 will adjust its route further due to the Rose Monday parade in Wiesbaden-Frauenstein, operating only between Frauenstein/Leierweg and its endpoints.
No specific alternative transport has been announced for the February 15 disruptions. In similar situations, ESWE Verkehr suggests checking partner lines 5, 28, 39, and 46, as well as regional buses, or arranging carpooling where possible.
The Carnival parade will heavily impact Wiesbaden's bus network on February 15. Multiple lines will run on shortened or altered routes, with some services suspended entirely. Passengers should check updates from ESWE Verkehr or consider alternative travel options for the day.
