Wiesbaden Braces for Major Water Supply Disruption This Week

Wiesbaden residents are advised to prepare for a significant water supply disruption this week. The city's water network requires maintenance, leading to a temporary suspension of service in certain areas.

The maintenance work, set to commence at midnight on Wednesday, October 22, will involve renewing a central valve junction at the intersection of Schwalbacher Straße and Emser Straße. This crucial operation will suspend water supply until 8:00 AM on Thursday, October 23. Residents in affected areas should fill containers with water in advance to ensure they have a supply during the outage.

During the disruption, all taps in homes should remain closed to prevent any potential damage that could arise from sudden pressure changes. After service resumes, residents may experience fluctuations in water pressure, as well as temporary discoloration or cloudiness in their water. These are normal side effects of such maintenance work and should subside within a short period.

The water supply disruption is expected to last until 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 23. While the city has not specified which other areas in Wiesbaden will be affected, residents are urged to be prepared and follow the guidelines provided to minimize inconvenience. The city assures that efforts are being made to restore water supply as soon as possible.
