Widow of Kirk prepares to assume control
Erika Kirk, the conservative influencer and new president of Turning Point USA, is set to speak at the memorial service for her late husband, Charlie Kirk, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The service, which is expected to attract up to 63,000 people inside the stadium and tens of thousands more outside, will also be attended by several members of the American administration, including President Donald Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence.
Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated on September 10. The accused murderer allegedly committed the act due to a disagreement with Kirk's ideas.
Erika Kirk, who has over 6 million followers on Instagram, has been vocal about her Christian faith and her traditional values. She is known for her positions against transgender rights and her support for traditional values.
In a heartfelt statement posted under photos on her social media, Erika Kirk expressed that her husband's mission would not be forgotten. The photos show Erika leaning over her husband's body in his coffin soon after his death. Other photos on her sales site, which sell religious message clothing and accessories, invite promoting their faith.
Erika Kirk, who studied political science and international relations, is currently pursuing a doctorate in biblical studies. She has a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son, whose identities have never been made public.
In addition to her public appearances, Erika Kirk hosts a podcast twice a week for meditation and Gospel preaching. She also participates in conferences to promote the traditional role of wife and mother.
Despite the solemn occasion, Erika Kirk's sales site still features photos of her and her late husband, wearing sweatshirts with the word "Proclaim", which invite promoting their faith. Other items on the site are humorous, such as a hoodie that reads "They said Noah was a conspiracy theorist."
As the memorial service approaches, Erika Kirk continues to emphasize her Christian faith and her commitment to her husband's mission. The service will be a tribute to Charlie Kirk's life and legacy, and a celebration of the faith that he and Erika shared.
