Hocking Memorabilia for a Good Cause: Marion Fedder's eBay Auction of Jan Fedders' Treasures

Widow of Jan Fedder Sells Off Vintage Artifacts in Public Auction

Marion Fedder, the widow of acclaimed German actor Jan Fedders, is auctioning off a collection of unique collectibles from her late husband's storied life. From May 11, fans can bid on 18 exclusive items on eBay, with the starting bid set at just €1 for each treasure. The proceeds will go towards an emotional project – the construction of a Jan Fedders fan meeting place on the Reeperbahn.

For over five decades, Jan Fedders nurtured an insatiable collecting passion, accumulating a hoard of curiosities in his St. Pauli apartment and Schleswig-Holstein farm over the years.

The Thrill of the Hunt

"Jan's collecting frenzy knew no bounds," Marion Fedder reminisces. For five decades, he hoarded everything that caught his eye. "The thrill of the hunt was the best part for him." She continues to uncover hidden gems in the collection as she meticulously organizes it. "Fortunately, I was with him for 20 years and know the stories behind each object."

Highlights of the Auction

A few of the auction's star items include Jan Fedders' fully restored 1956 black luxury limousine, which cost €10,000 to restore, and his iconic Messerschmitt cabin scooter that he rode to his wedding in 2000. Among the offerings is an original captain's cap from former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, obtained through a birthday party encounter with the politician.

One of the most unusual items is an oversized pair of underwear belonging to Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. Fedders acquired the oddity in 1996, complete with a letter from Queen Elizabeth II.

Other auction rarities include a shooting schedule from the first "Tatort" episode, a get-well card from the "Büttenwarder" team, a slot machine from Fedder's reconstructed "Haifischbar", a Bolex camera, the original "Büttenwarder" bus stop sign, two NDR flat men, a Federal Cross of Merit, and more.

Find Your Own Fedders Treasure

If you're a fan of Jan Fedders or just looking for a unique addition to your collection, head over to eBay from May 11 to get your hands on one of these one-of-a-kind items.
