Widow of Jan Fedder sells off collectibles at auction

It's been five years since Hamburg lost one of its most cherished actors, Jan Fedders. But his spirit continues to shine, especially in his remarkable collection that his wife, Marion, has been meticulously curating since his passing. Jan was an avid collector who amassed hundreds of curiosities over the years.

Starting from May 11, Marion Fedder is opening up Jan's treasure trove once again! A select number of items from this extraordinary collection will be auctioned off on eBay. Get ready to bid on these unique accessories, starting at just €1. The proceeds from this auction will go towards creating the Jan Fedder gathering place – a heart project designed to unite fans and friends in the city.

An Unquenchable Passion for Collecting

"Jan's collecting passion knew no bounds," Marion Fedder recalls. For over five decades, he gathered everything that caught his fancy. "The thrill of the hunt was what he cherished the most." Marion is still in the process of organizing the collection and discovers new surprises every day. "Fortunately, I was by his side for 20 years, and we shared countless stories behind each object."

Highlights of the auction include Fedders' black 1956 limousine, which was restored for €10,000, his iconic Messerschmitt cabin scooter – the ride for his 2000 wedding – as well as an original captain's cap from former Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, a quirky gift he received at a birthday party. A truly peculiar item is a XXXL pair of underwear from Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, complete with a letter from Queen Elizabeth II, something Fedders purchased in 1996.

Other treasures include a shooting schedule from the very first "Tatort" episode, a get-well card from the "Büttenwarder" team, a slot machine from Fedders' rebuilt "Haifischbar," a Bolex camera, the original "Büttenwarder" bus stop sign, two NDR flat men, a Federal Cross of Merit, and much more.
