The small village of Göttterswickerhamm is gearing up for a traditional event, as the annual shooting festival of association group Voerde-South takes place from the 22nd to the 24th of August.
The festival kicks off on Friday, with the decoration of the festival tent scheduled for the same day. The association clubs of the association group Voerde-South will gather on the festival meadow opposite the cemetery at 4:30 pm on Saturday, August 23.
The main purpose of the festival is to find a new shooting king or queen. The competition for the royal title will take place two hours after the shooting for the bird prizes on August 24. The president will be accompanied by the Lackhausen brass orchestra during the festivities. The welcoming of the throne pairs, award ceremonies, and grand military tattoo will take place at 4:30 pm on August 23. A wreath-laying ceremony will follow the president's procession.
The shooting for the bird prizes will begin at 4:30 pm on August 24, and the fight for the royal title will take place immediately after. The coronation of the new royal couple is scheduled for 8:30 pm on August 24.
Food can be obtained from a snack stand on all days of the festival. The festival ball in the festival tent with the party band "Herzschlag" will start at 7:30 pm on August 23.
