Who's the duping duo of roofer swindlers?
Riegelsberg, Saarland - Claiming to be proficient artisans, they delivered shoddy work and then demanded an eye-popping 13,000 euros for it.
Now, the police are on the hunt for the alleged slackers who scammed their victim in Riegelsberg. Initially, only 800 euros had been agreed upon for the renovation of the garage roof on the house in Überhofer Straße – including the disposal of the obsolete Eternit panels – with just a verbal agreement. Unfortunately, there was no written contract in place.
Consequently, the victim was left indignant when they were suddenly presented with the imposing price tag. Regardless, they paid in cash due to feeling pressured by the roofer team and their fear of reprisals.
Police Spokesperson: "There's a strong likelihood that at least seven culprits were involved in the crime." Phantom photographs were taken of two of the suspects.

The presumed leader of the scam crew, who also collected the 13,000 euros for the poor handiwork, was described as being between 45 and 47 years old, standing at approximately 1.80 meters tall. He was likely Romanian but spoke flawless German without an accent. The police report noted his worn-out appearance, specifically his face. His build: slender.

The second suspect was described as an "Eastern European-looking individual" with a more robust frame than his comrade. He also spoke perfect German without an accent and served as the "foreman" and "spokesperson" for the team of roofers. The police: "Everyone involved was wearing Engelbert Strauss work clothes."

According to the victim, the fraudsters were on the move in a white Ford Transit with the tagline "Services, Roofing Work, Winter Maintenance, and Gardening" in bold, bright colors on one side and a red Mercedes Sprinter. Both vehicles sported French license plates.
