Getting ready for some festive fun in Bavaria? You're in luck! According to the German Weather Service (DWD), snow showers are on the horizon. Expect to see flurries in large parts of Bavaria this weekend, particularly in the Alps.

Up in the mountains, meteorologists are anticipating up to 40 centimeters of fresh snow at higher altitudes – and in some areas, an astounding 50 centimeters! However, at lower altitudes, the forecast calls for sleet or rain. So pack your winter gear wisely!

As you enjoy the snow, be prepared for chilly temperatures, with temps ranging from a bracing minus 1 degrees to a warmer (for Bavaria) maximum of plus 5 degrees. Gusty winds and widespread frost may also make an appearance, so bundle up tightly!

Keep an eye out for icy conditions on Sunday night – their presence could make roads and sidewalks slippery. And if you're planning a visit to the many Christmas markets in Bavaria, watch for updates in case weather-related cancellations or adjustments occur.

In related news, a bit further north, the German Weather Service is also predicting snowfall in Berlin, Brandenburg, and Saxony, albeit not as much as in Bavaria. And with icy weather persisting, public service strikes could make travel more challenging. Freezing temperatures are also expected, with lows of minus 7 degrees Celsius on Sunday night in central Germany.

Stay tuned for more weather updates and enjoy the holiday season!
