White House Presents 20-Point Plan to End Gaza Conflict
The White House has presented a comprehensive 20-point plan aimed at resolving the ongoing military conflict in Gaza. The proposal, discussed by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, outlines a roadmap for a ceasefire and the release of hostages, without involving occupation or annexation by Israel.
The plan envisions a phased release of prisoners and detainees over 72 hours. Israel will free 250 life-sentence prisoners and 1700 Gaza residents detained since October 7, 2023. In return, for each Israeli hostage released, Israel will hand over the remains of 15 Gaza residents. Trump has called for an immediate ceasefire, withdrawal of Israeli forces, and a halt to hostilities.
The plan also includes the establishment of a temporary international administration in Gaza, with the goal of creating a de-radicalized, terror-free zone. Following the agreement, immediate aid and infrastructure reconstruction will be sent to Gaza. Notably, no forced evacuation of civilians is planned.
The proposal has received widespread international support. Countries such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, and Indonesia, along with the Palestinian Authority, have publicly expressed their approval. Western governments like Germany, the UK, and France have also backed the proposals.
The White House's 20-point plan offers a path towards ending the military conflict in Gaza. It balances the release of prisoners and hostages with a commitment to de-radicalization and reconstruction. With broad international support, the plan aims to bring an immediate halt to hostilities and pave the way for a lasting peace.
