Axios journalist Alex Thompson ain't pullin' any punches when it comes to President Joe Biden's alleged mental decline.
Skirmishing with the Biden administration, Thompson bluntly stated on Thursday that key players within the White House are none too pleased with Joe's assertion that claims about his mental decline are hogwash.
During a chat on "The View," President Joe and his significant other Jill were grilled about new books from Democratic sources suggesting a "staggering deterioration" in the president's cognitive abilities during the latter part of his tenure.
"They're dead wrong," Joe Biden barked back. "Nothin' to back that up."
Jill added, "Let's face it, the people who wrote those books weren't tucked in bed with us. They didn't see how hard Joe was clawin' every day. Kept at it till the cows came home. I'd be catchin' Z's and he'd still be on the blower, brushin' up on his briefings."

Thompson then tossed some shade at Biden's performance during the interview, confirming that there was indeed a decline and a cover-up to boot.
"Here's the deal – the Biden White House folks don't just disagree, they believe there was a serious decline, and that there was a cover-up too, especially in 2023 and 2024," Thompson proclaimed during a later appearance on CNN.
Recently feted with the White House Correspondents' Association's Aldo Beckman Award for Overall Excellence in White House Coverage, Thompson's reporting has been all over the messy debacle of Biden's debate with President Donald Trump, the prelude to it, and his eventual decision to drop out of the race.
During his acceptance speech, he threw some serious shade at the mainstream media for turning a blind eye to signs of Biden's decline until it was undeniable.
