In the regular season, Weißenfels ended up in 8th place and are scheduled to face off against 7th place Alba Berlin on May 13. The winner of this battle advances to the playoff quarterfinals, while the loser gets a second chance at home against EWE Baskets Oldenburg or Rostock Seawolves on May 15.
