On Saturday, September 27th, St. Andreas Church in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, will play host to the exciting Andreasturm Challenge. This sporting event invites participants of all ages (8 and above) to test their endurance, ambition, and love for movement as they race against time to reach the top of the church tower.
With a height of 114.5 meters and consisting of 364 steps, the tower offers a breathtaking view of the city and as far as the Brocken on a clear day. The route of the challenge includes passing the bell tower and the old mechanical clockwork, adding an extra layer of charm to the event.
The Andreasturm Challenge is organised by Hildesheim Marketing and promises to be a fun-filled day, offering certificates, a competitive spirit, and a chance to enjoy the stunning panoramic view from the top. The event will be divided into different age groups to ensure a fair and enjoyable competition for all participants.
There are limited places for the challenge, with only 60 starting places available. Each time slot lasts 30 minutes, with 10 runners per slot, allowing for a safe and controlled environment. After reaching the top, participants can take a short break and soak in the view before making their way back down.
To participate in the Andreasturm Challenge, runners must bring a signed waiver of liability and photo/video release form.
