Where have you, Fox, been hiding?
On Tuesday evening, an unexpected event unfolded on Bastei Street near Lohmen. A collision involving a Skoda car and another vehicle took place around 8:30 PM, according to the police report.
The incident, which caused approximately 20,000 euros in damages, was triggered by a fox that ran across the road. The 47-year-old female driver of the Skoda vehicle could not avoid hitting the wild animal, causing the accident.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the drivers involved. The emergency services attended to the drivers to ensure their well-being, and all drivers confirmed that an animal was on the road.
A following driver crashed into the rear of the Skoda, but a third car managed to brake in time to avoid the accident. The closure of Bastei Street took place for recovery and cleaning operations following the accident. Traffic resumed on the street at 10:30 PM.
The Skoda was traveling on the S165 between Rathewalde and Lohmen when the incident occurred. The police report does not include the name of the woman driver.
This incident serves as a reminder to always be vigilant while driving, as unexpected events can occur on our roads. Let's hope for the safety of all drivers and animals on our streets.
